NZ Riverjet takes centre stage on US TV show

One of New Zealand's geothermal wonders was on show this week to a massive American audience. The natural hotspring waterfall and canyon featured on NZ Riverjet’s ‘The Squeeze’, was the destination for contestants in popular romance reality TV show 'The Bachelor'. The episode rated number 1 total viewers of regular TV programming in the US with an astonishing 7.8 million viewers.

Rotorua based NZ Riverjet, worked closely with the TV show’s producer to take the contestants on a joy ride ending at the hot-water waterfall. A production team of around 80 came from the US to film the show and were quoted saying “This is an amazing, and the best, location ever on the Bachelor series world-wide… ”.

Social media boomed with comments on the scenery and experience offered in New Zealand, clearly the exposure will have a significant impact for local tourism operators.
