What impact will news of Jasons Travel Media going into receivership have on your business today? Well, right now, nobody has enough information.
We understand some of Jasons' competitors have advised to switch to their products and many tourism operators listed on the travel site may react with panic and move their listing and bookings rapidly to another provider without thinking of the consequences. Before you make any rash decisions it's important to stay calm and consider your options very carefully. Make sure you are getting all the facts right to help you with your decisions. If you are a member of MANZ or HAPNZ or TIA, try to get advice from those organisations. They are there to help.
So far, all we know is what has been released by Jasons:
"Receivers were appointed to the Company on 28 November. It is ‘business as usual’ at the moment. The Receivers will be trying to sell the business as a going concern. The Receivers are assessing the business and its operations right now. The Receivers will post updates on their website www.ppbadvisory.com. Customers and Debtors will receive a letter from the receiver this week. Debtors should pay their accounts as soon as possible, as all money received will assist the Company to continue operating in the short term. No new sales commitments will be agreed on without the Receivers’ authorisation." See more at: www.jasons.co.nz.
